May 22, 1959 - Lee Petty wins at Charlotte - No, not THAT Charlotte. This one was at the Southern State Fairgrounds half-mile, dirt track.

(About nine months later, Richard won hisĀ  first career GN race on the same track.)

1966 - Marvin Panch at Charlotte - Yes, THAT Charlotte. It was the second time in three years for a Petty Plymouth to reach victory lane in the 600 - yet neither victory was claimed by Richard.

Oh how I remember those days Chase. Thanks for helping me to remember how old I am.

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

Tim, reckon we ought to add another one to Jeff's "you know you are a rodeo goat" series?

Perhaps, like me, "You know you are an OLD rodeo goat when you remember solid blue Petty Enterprises cars."

Ah hell, I remember solid blue Petty cars and I'm not an old goat. No, you're an old goat if you can remember Richard driving a car other than the #43. You're a really old goat if you attended (but not necessarily remember) a race where a Petty Engineering car had no "Petty Blue" on it.
