After watching the very brief excerpt below of Smokey Yunick commenting on Bill France, Jr. - one can oly imagaine what he'd have to say could he be interviewed about the current state of NASCAR and its leadership:

I don't disagree with Smoke, he was there, and he was brilliant. The frustrating irony in this story (to me) is the fact that the France family became billionaires, and absolute auto racing power brokers. The family would outlast and outclass AAA, USAC, CART, the IRL and EVERY form of American championship auto racing and sports car racing. The France family has dictated the very direction of major league racing for decades....and still does. True, they've been the benefactors of fortunate timing and circumstance, but still, they've not only 'made a living' from auto racing, something generally deemedimpossible, They've amassed a huge fortune from basically nothing.
