Dave, I have lots of fun around some of the tracks, especially the small tracks. The collection of pictures come from Martinsville, North Wilksboro, Darlington, the Mecca of stock cars before they changed it around. Also went to Dawsonville in 83 for Bill Elliott Day. Have been to Lanier when it was dirt and then later when it was paved. Made that a weekend trip to Lanier and then back up the road the next day for a sprint car race at I-85 Speedway at Greer S.C. which was rained out. Martinsville was another daily double, practice at Martinsville on Saturday afternoon and a USAC sprint car race at 311 Speedway in Madison, N.C. Darlington still had the covered grandstand and the old press box before it was all changed around. Just to walk up on that track and just think about all the history. I started all this with the old dirt tracks around home. There was plenty back in the day, Rock Hill Fairgrounds, Gastonia Fairgrounds, Robinwood in Gastonia, Lancaster Speedway, York-Clover Speedway, even a trip or to Starlite in Monroe. Sadly, most are all gone now. Went in the Air Force and was stationed in the Southwest, got introduced to open wheel sprint cars after growing up in stock car country. Was able to see some great racing, Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix, Arizona comes to mind, great race track no longer with us. I guess I have been at this since about age 13/14 and am 65 years young now. Since Tim got me hooked on this R/R I have been able to meet some of the drivers that I use to hear about on the radioand also some of the great individuals like you and Randy and a whole bunch more, have to include Gene Hobby also, went to Hillsborough last year and will be going back good Lord willing. You know it gets in your blood and for me it has seeped over into all forms of motorsports.

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

Tim, Im sure glad Devin can do all this with photos. I know very little about the computer. I have learned somethings as I go along. She does a great job. As for sharing the photos I just figured maybe I could contribute something to the site. I thoroughly enjoy the site. I will be seeing you and Patrick tonight at 7:00. Take care.
