The 7th Grand Touring race of 1969 was held at Baton Rouge International Speedway and was 320 laps on the 5/8 mile paved oval. Ken Rush started from the pole the day before as 133 laps were run on May 25 th before the race was halted for rain but did not finish. The remainder of the event was completed on the 26 th with Jim Paschal capturing his first series victory by two laps over Buck Baker. The win paid $3,000.00 and eight cars were running at the finish. Bob Tullius parked his #94 Javelin after 181 laps with a blown head gasket and Charlie Blanton ran 245 laps before his engine expired on his Camaro.
