Thanks for welcoming me to your site. I would like to ask if anyone might have known or have any information on my father, James C. (CRATY) Corbett from Irondale, Al. He owned a race car ( I think it was a 1938 Ford Coupe). It had the name of the car on its door. It was " The WildGoose" and the number on it was 61. It was brown. I think he drove it but I also think he hadanother driver. I know it was raced at BIR in Bham., Al and possibly at other tracks. There is a picture of this car in the Talladega Museum at their racetrack in Talladega, Al. It mistakenly says it was owned by someone else but I can't remember the name. Does anyone have any photos, information or articles about my father and the car? I have a photo of his car. He owned Corbett's Paint & Body Shop in Irondale, Al. He also operated a wrecker service. My father died ten years ago.

The car you are describing is also in the Alabama historical photos -- the other car you say that was at Talledega is also listed there.. I will try and go find them for you

Thank you so very much. Can I access Alabama Historical Photos ? If so, how do I go about it?

I don't know if this site has anything to do with the one named by Johnny, but here is a link to many Alabama racing photos:

Contact my father, James Williams. He has a photo of the Wild Goose in his office. He worked on the car when he was a teenager and has info on the car. I believe we are cousins. His phone number has been the same since the 70's, you can get it from anyone in the family. Email me at jcraigw1976@gmail.com if you need his contact info.

My father also drove the tow truck for them at BIR when they raced.
