I'm excited! I finally got off my butt and decided to convert my old VHS tapes to DVD. I've got at least 35 races on tape from 1981 to 2002. Three Rockingham races and two from Wilkesboro. After 1992, I only recorded the Daytona 500 each year.

Back in 2001, I cataloged all of these tapes but I don't know where that info went so I have to start over. It looks like I'm missing races from 1982, 1986 and 1995 but they may show up deep on some tape. Without 1986, I probably missed all of Tim Richmond's career. I've got a Talladega tape from '87 and he ran one of those; hopefully he's on there.

Nine of the races are from 1991 or 1992. Because Richard. I've got his 199th win and maybe some others. His last race, his last top 10, and the Andretti win that was the last for the 43 before last week.

The first race to being converted now. Charlotte, Oct 1992. Kulwicki and Schrader on the front row. Bonnet and Squier in the booth.

That project should bring back some sweet memories.

They did an interview with Paul Sawyer and he was psyched about how popular NASCAR was becoming. He promised that Richmond would have 90,000 seats by 1995.

Andy, I well remember that very first ESPN telecast from Rockingham on March 1, 1981 with Bob Jenkins & Eli Gold in the booth. One of the ESPN pit runners had given me several ESPN decals on Saturday and I had them on the Osterlund/Earnhardt/Wrangler #2 Pontiac hoping to generate a little more television time. However, Dale generated plenty of time on his own with his multiple spins before finally retiring around lap 285.

Andy, that is awesome!!!! I started recording races on VHS in 1987. Recorded almost all of them. Some of the tapes are still around but I would have no idea how to convert them to DVD. Great job and I know you will enjoy watching those. Probably prefer watching those to some of the races today.

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.
