JACKSON GT 200

Jackson, Miss. Nov. 23, 1969

The 35th and last Grand Touring race of 1969 was held at Jackson International Speedway and was 200 laps on the half mile paved oval. Pete Hamilton qualified on the pole with a record time of 20.60 seconds and led all but 26 of the 200 laps. Hamilton dominated the field winning by 4 laps for his second in a row and 12th win of the season. There were 4 cautions for 30 laps. Ken Rush capped his Championship season with a second place finish but he only had to start the race to wrap up the points title by 53 points over Frank Sessoms.
