I feel so bad for this guy

I feel so bad for Brian Vickers.

For the fourth time in his career, medical issues related to his cardiovascular system have sidelined him. He is out indefinitely due to a return of blood clots and the need to go on blood thinners. Brett Moffitt will drive the Aaron's Dream Machine this weekend and Chris Buescher moves into the #34.

I agree Alex. Brian is a good driver (even if he drives MWR junk) and he is dedicated to the sport. I hate to see him suffering with all these health problems and while I have hopes that he will completely get over this continuing issue, from what I have learned for blood clot situations such as his over the years from a personal friend of mine, it is unlikely he will ever be completely free of the recurrence. Certainly my prayers go out to him and his family.

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

How sadly ironic is it that the sponsor of the Fontana Xfinity race - the Drive4Clots.com 300 - is the purported blood clot preventive prescription medication, XARELTO? And what XARELTO commercial Television and print spokesman has withdrawn from his chosen occupation due to blood clots? Why, it's Brian Vickers, the NASCAR driver, of course.

Talk about a sponsor's worst nightmare.

Yes Sir, Mr. Fulton, it could hardly be a worse nightmare for the sponsor of the race. I can't help but wonder if Xarelto will withdraw that commercial running on television staring Brian?

I was wondering the very same thing. Will be interesting to see if it airs during today's Xfinity race.

And they did run Xarelto commercials featuring Brian Vickers throughout the Fontana Xfinity race. These also included Kevin Neelon and Arnold Palmer. Knowing Arnie and staff's business acumen, you can bet Xarelto had mucho $$$ invested in those ads.

Another example of sponsors and business, especially the pharmaceutical clan (Xarelto is manufactured by Bayer and marketed in U.S. by Johnson & Johnson subsidiary, Janssen), having no shame. Remember years ago when J&J was highly respected for pulling all Tylenol off the shelves? My, how times have changed.
