FRANTIC FORD FUNNY CARRACING TEAMS
2011 SEASON
We are extremelypleased to announce the following information pertaining to our return to professional drag racing in 2011. Through numerous discussions and well thought out planning, Team Frantic Ford has charted a course of attack that will afford us the opportunity to campaign two completely separate funny car teams for the upcoming season and beyond. While one team will primarily focus on running at a regional level, the other team will be competing nationally on a much larger stage. Partners Bobby Frey & Al Liebmann are in total agreement with the fact that running a 2 car operation will not only reach out to more spectators in the standsbut it willallow our marketing partners the opportunity to receive corporate exposure on both national
and regional levels.
SGRO-LIEBMANN-FREY TA/FC
One of the team cars will have Lou Sgro campaigning a 2011 Mustang TA/FC at select NHRA national events and NHRAdivisional races as well. TheMcKinney builtcar willdebut at the NHRA Gatornationals andbe capablypiloted by veteran driver Lou "Machine Gun Louie" Sgro.Lou is a very talented individual and a close friend of Al & Bobby. When
informed that Lou still had the burning desire to return toactive competition, there was no doubt as to who the team wanted to be associated with for the future.After briefly stepping away from active competition, Lou is very excited to once again have the opportunity tostrap in and wage war against the best the class has to offer. Forming this alliance allows all involved the opportunityto achieve the goal of returning the
legendaryFrantic Ford name to the winners circle in funny car competition. The coming season should prove to be very exciting and rewarding for all involved.
REIDNAUER-FREY-LIEBMANN ALCOHOL NOSTALGIA F/C
The other team car that will fly the Frantic Ford colors will be a 1977 Mustang II bodied machine that will focus on running a regional schedule for the upcoming season at various venues located primarily in the east. Driving chores for the low slung beastwill be handled by George Reidnauer. After carefulconsideration and watching George develop his skillsas an owner/driver, it was decided that he was the perfect fit for their new program. Much of next season will see the car compete as an alcohol fueled machine before turning our sights to the world of nitromethane racing. Having George gain valuable seat time early onnext season will allow the team the time needed to secure the necessary financial backing to move forward to the next level of competition.
