My thoughts and prayers are with his family. He was a very nice man. I met him here and also in person at the HCS in 2009.

Ann and I express our deepest sympathy for the family of Mr. Sims. When I met him at The Historic Columbia Speedway his enthusiasm for life and for racing came through like warm sunshine. He will be missed but we are so fortunate to have had him with us. God bless the family.

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I have known Jerry since back in the 70's. His passion for good ole racing and blue grass music will be missed.

Jerry taught me more about the history of the sport than any other single person I know. I never got to meet Jerry in person, but I knew him online for the past 10 years and he became one of my best friends online, probably the best friend I had and never met in person.

He always had something nice to say about/to me or my (many times amatureish) models of old race cars, he even made me a birthday card with me in Soapy Castles' Daytona.

The NASCAR forum world won't be the same without Jerry :(

I plan to pull out and watch the VHS copy of the movie Thunder in Carolina he sent me in his honor, which also had some 60s race footage he added as well.

Special prayers and our love to Jerry's family. He always wanted to help someone in anyway, but was really happy when he could supply a person with either a picture or model car being asked for. Remember not too long ago we needed a picture of the Helms # 28 with the right shade of blue. He tried so much to help us find one.Another of Dirt Track's "one of a kind", gone ahead of us. Rest in Peace Jerry and may the Lord hold your family in His Hands with His Love, Mercy and Grace. We love you all,Billy and Barbara
