RACING AT MARTINSVILLE was like the racing of the past

Saturdays Truck race was like watching racing from the 60's and 70's. There was action on each lap from the front to the back.

The old guys were arguing over the middle of the pack positions and those young guns were dicing it up every lap trying to outdo the other on each curve. I dont think there was a straight fender on anybodys truck at the end. They were even bumping and pushing in the pits after the race was over. If you didnt see it you missed the show of the weekend.

At this rate Trucks are going to be the drawing card for racing. I cant see where anyone would want anything better than this race,or do you??

There was plenty of contact on the cool down lap with Buescher and Bodine spinning each other and Peters and Gaughan arguing on pit road after the race.

Johnny, I didn't get to see the race yesterday. I was doing things with my youngest grandson. But,like you, I have observed the same thing in many of the truck races I have watched this year. This seems to be especially true when the Cup drivers are left out of the event and it's all truck drivers racing. You make a great point, it is like the old days.

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

You are correct Johnny. The trucks are alway exciting especially on the short tracks. Maybe Brian Vickers should have run in the truck race to get a little more practice. Then he could have added to his total of hits the starters stand and maybe a wrecker or even an ambulance. He hit everything else but those in the cup race.

Max Papis should have gotten the "Most Humorous" award after pulling alongside Tod Bodine, who was sitting backwards on the track, and gave him a big applause. He and Bodine had tangled earlier in the race.
