On Sat nite Mike Lingerfelt did just that and it was from a competitor too.. At least he came out with his teeth but man what a blow....... 
As the old saying goes, makes you feel like a nut, but he is a tough nut to crack I guess.. when a Rouge lug nut comes your way at least
Johnny, The closest I ever came to this was a glancing blow on the leg from a lug nut as the car left the pit stall. Glad it was not a direct hit. I did blister my palms one time when I grabbed a hot tire.
Johnny, About 10-12 years ago I ran at the Pasco Co. Fairgrounds in Zephyrhills, Fl. and after my feature I vol. to flag in turn 3. I was looking back towards the pits and Clint Hamilton of Gainesville had won his feature in the 3X3 65 Chevelle. He was taking the Polish Victory lap and decided to scare me by coming close to the rail and then gunning it. He floored it and a stone the size of a marble hit me in the center of the chest really really hard. It was bruised for a week or longer. I'm still looking to get a payback if he ever comes around again. lol....
