It was time for him and he was thankful to boot..But the ones who tried to best him fell short, some way short.

Kevin gave it the ole College try but Jamie stayed out front in the last segment .. JimmIE Johnson was there, just way back there. In short Jamie said this about the final 10 laps saying, its all or nothing meaning a Million or nothing, guess the Million won out. To me there was action in each segment and plenty of rubbing and racing. Kevin made it back with plenty of time to spare after qualifying for Indy 500 so he was exciting to watch finishing in 11th .

Now who saw Dale Jr in the Dump Truck??

I thought the racing was great. Cousin Carl did everything he could to wreck Jamie in that last 10 laps without making it obvious, but Jamie was too tough for him. NASCAR had a meeting with Kyle Busch prior to the race lamenting the fact that "Crash" Patrick was not in the race so some action would be required from someone else. Once 1.5 million was agreed upon, Kyle made it look good for the fans with his crash. Too bad he had to take Logano with him.

Seriously, from day one I have had tremendous respect for Jamie McMurray for his ability and for his class. He is truly a gentleman who knows how to drive a race car and someone who cares for others. I've already been working on the Legendtorial for this Tuesday mentioning Jamie and that was BEFORE he won.

Kurt Busch running Indy is turning out to be a big boost for him and, by extension, for NASCAR. Being tenth fastest overall yesterday was some great adapting to the Indy cars. I will be watching Indy next Sunday so I will be in for a full day of racing.

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

I tried to watch... I really did.

But, I was feeling very under the weather, lying on the couch. I just couldn't handle those ridiculous driver intros and the guy in the white tee shirt with the tatoos on his wrists screeching. I made it as far as hearing him totally butcher the pronunciation of Vallejo, California and El Cajon, California and turned it off, fell asleep, and read about it in this morning's Sunday paper. Who was that idiot and where did they find him? Even more annoying were the Sprint gals parading with the banners in front of the cars like they were Roman legionnaires.

I'm ready to just see some racing again and leave the hokum to the rassling telecasts.

Tim... I'm in 100% agreement about Kurt Busch and his performance at Indy. If he hadn't had to leave early to return to Charlotte for The Winston, oops, All-Star Race, I'm sure he'd of bettered his time and wound up in the "Fast 9." One thing I've got to say about those telecasts from Indy... they need to find a way for the camera operator or director to crop the person in the Firestone Firehawk mascot costume out of the driver interview shots. A little is ok... but it was way over the top with the hawk horning into every single shot on pit road. Way too much.

Johnny, What struck me was how different these cars are from anything I am familiar with. I've never ran a stock car at Charlotte but I have ran Formula Vee's there and even in those small cars the wall will just suck you into it when you come off of turn two. Dad said the GT/GA, Sportsman and Grand National cars were the same way back in the day. Running the bottom in one and two the car would really drift out to the wall off of two. Now if you have to be careful to keep the car off the wall when you run the bottom it has got to be harder to do when you run the top. Less room to let the car move up the track. It is hard for me to imagine that the longer turn radius at the top would make that much difference but I guess it does. And they must not run the caster spread that we used to run before power steering. Back then you had to hold the car up on the straights to keep it from going to the bottom.

The other thing that I thought was that was the best 10 laps J Mac ever drove.

Someone said a ways back THAT if you running up real close to the wall and something happens you dont hit as hard as if you on the bottom -- think it was Richard Petty

Ah-ha you weren't paying attention to the race or the post race interviews.. The dump truck deal with Jr was a statement he made about his car about mid-race. Also after the race the same statement was brought up at a interview with Jr, but he did drive the Dump Truck came in an easy 4th place in the race. Now you know the rest of the story------------------------------------------ !
