Who was it, ole Will Shakespeare who wrote "first thing we do is kill all the lawyers."? Not sure and I don't have time to look up that quote tonight. But I did want to take time to let you folks know that both NASCAR and the RTA have released statements today that there will be NO direct communication between the parties. All communications will be through the respective law firms retained by the entities. Sounds sort of like "stakeholders" and "management" want to be sure all wording is more than just politically correct.

Go find the report and read it. It is quite interesting to say the least. And having worked in the legal profession for 37 years, most of which involved contracts with sports teams and coaches, and players, I can't wait to hear the legal doubletalk to which we are about to be exposed. Just wait folks. Trust me. Better start watching reruns of Matlock and Perry Mason to get yourself well versed.

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

I had to laugh when I read that Bruton Smith claims to have never heard of Rob Kauffman and stands in NASCAR's corner 100%!

Ryan McGee has written a very thoughtful article for ESPN:The Magazine reminiscing about how NASCAR's money teams got too big for their britches and abandoned the once mecca of stock car racing shops at Lakeside Park in Mooresville, NC:

Wouldn't it be something if everyone in this group (RTA and NASCAR) had nose meters? :) Legal mumbo-jumbo forthcoming! Could get very interesting...or not.
