No, this is not a money or attendance story, just something that caught my eye in today's Charlotte paper and made me think of the informal RR group visiting the Hall today and hoping they have a great time. Just too bad the little project from the story hasn't been finished in time for our vistting RR members to take a hot lap!

The WBT's Holiday on Ice rink is on the move.

After seven years on The Green uptown, the rink is moving to the plaza of the NASCAR Hall of Fame, 400 East Martin Luther King Blvd. "We just outgrew The Green," said WBT program director Carl East.

At the NASCAR plaza, the rink will be about a third bigger, 100 feet by 72 feet, said Matt Dubois, WBT's marketing director.

Last year, about 22,000 skaters used the rink, Dubois said.

WBT hopes to have the rink open by Thanksgiving.

Admission is $9, and skate rental is $3.
