If you ever carried your wife across the front stretch on a Ga red clay track thats gooey because her shoe stuck in the track (those little slip on shoes) as the announcer picked up on it and had the stands hollering you could be at a ------------------------------------------------------- memories
Who Won ?-------the race
My 3 year-old son (at the time) was the big winner. He stole my slush and drank most of it.
Since we are on the silly side I couldnt help but share this with yall ! !
That was so, cute...Johnny!!
It was the night before the February 17, 1985 Daytona Race, Momma didn't go that year because I was expecting my youngest son at anytime. However, my Step-Dad, Brothers and several others did go. I am in the labor room and in horrible pain!!! The nurse comes in and tells me that I have a phone call, WHAT in the world...not only am I in labor, but this is a hospital..who in the world will let you take a call in the labor room? I have always been close to my brothers, and sure enough..it was HB, he had called home and found out where I was. Called the hospital and insisted to speak with me...and there is NO telling what he told that sweet little nurse, either..LOL I take the phone, and to say he was a little inebriated would be a major understatement...but he told me he loved me, and had to call me and tell me so. I really don't remember all he said...hey..I was in hard labor...but it had something to do with Daytona...racin', good time....and yotta..yotta..yotta. Sure enough, Jeremy was born after midnight on the day of the race. His name....Jeremy "Cash"...his Daddy had won the hat money..that day..so Cash it was. And Ole Bill from Dawsonville was the winner at Daytona......and...I, my dear brother, HB will never forget or stop loving you for that special phone call!!!
Wow... how about all these RR younguns having kids in the 80s & 90s?!
Enuff to make a fella feel old!
Ours came along in '75 & '78. I was 27 & 29. Now I am feeling young again! Thanks, PK!!!
I'm glad to have old farts around to make ME feel young. haha
Wait. My odometer just clicked over again today. Now I'll have to reassess if I'm still in the young camp or the old bunch.
Another belated birthday greeting... and many happy returns.. or left turns, lol.
