Earlier today I commented on having two Canadian drivers in the November 1967 Asheville-Weaverville GN field - Don Biederman and Frog Fagan.

A moment ago, I saw a photo post by RR member, Tom Middaugh of a late 1960s ad for New Smyrna Speedway:

In 1985, I was fortunate to sponsor an entry (photo below) for car builder Dave Fuge, driven by Derrike Cope in the annual February World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna.

Photo from The Midwest Racing Connection.

The ad posted by Tom also promotes BUS JUMP, WALL OF FIRE AND MOTORCYCLE JUMP BY CANADIAN DAREDEVIL KEN CARTER .

Carter went on to be billed in the 70s as "The Mad Canadian" attempting outrageous jumps during the same time period as Evil Knievel.

Carter was killed in 1983 attempting a jump over a pond in Peterborough, Ontario using a modified Pontiac Firebird. The car malfunctioned and Carter missed the landing ramp by 30 meters, landing on his roof.

In 1976, the Film Board of Canada released this 10 minute short feature of Carter performing a car jump at a Canadian stock car track in Nova Scotia:
