Back in the early 70s, we'd sometimes race our '55 Chevy Limited Sportsman at the defunct Chantilly Speedway, an exciting quarter-mile dirt oval in Weldon, NC - now a ghost track.
Just down the road from Chantilly Speedway where RR member Joe Dean Huss used to spank the field in a hemi Plymouth and just down the road from Roanoke Rapids where Joe resides is a little known automotive facility in Garysburg, NC called the North Carolina Center for Automotive Research.
