Technical Question

I remember some info from previous radio interviews (can't remember who was telling this) about how far ahead of the curve Bill Jenkins was with the small block chevy. One discussion was that he began changing the firing order to better cool adjacent cylinders well before anyone else thought of such things.

My question is this is this...which firing order swap was he using?. I'm assuming he changed the 5,7 order since they are adjacent...at the rear of the engine...and together in the stock firing order. Is this correct? What was the resultant swap?...is this the 4/7 swap that is fairly common now in camshaft grinding? What is the resultant firing order?

Thanks!

Had a discussion with some friends at breakfast Friday morning and this came up...just curious...and due to CRS can't remember the details.
