Us Seniors vs Today's Racers

If you ever feel like the current crop of pretty boy, millionaire drivers, crew chiefs and mechanics kinda act like their mess don't stink and thumb their noses at we old timers talking about the dirt tracks and good ole days, you might enjoy this little blip:

A self-important college freshman walking along the beach took it upon himself to explain to a senior citizen, resting on the steps, why it was impossible for the older generation to understand his generation. "You grew up in a different world, actually an almost primitive one," the student said loud enough for others nearby to hear. "The young people of today grew up with television, jet planes, space travel, man walking on the moon. We have nuclear energy, ships and cell phones, computers with light speed...and much more." After a brief silence, the senior citizen calmly responded as follows: "You're right, son. We had none of those things when we were young... so we invented them! Now, you arrogant little sh*t, what are you doing for the next generation?" The applause took them both by surprise.

Thanks Dave! I love that. That sounds exactly like something my Daddy would have come up with. He was so quick with the sharp remarks. Makes me miss him even more to know he's missing all this we are doing here on RR. Of course he died before things changed but I can hear him now talking about the way things should be in racing. If you think I'm opinionated, you should have met him. But, thanks again. If that is a true story, I want to meet that old man.

Tim

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

Better yet I would like to see J.J. go back to the day when Tim Leeming was driving or to when Billy Biscoe was driving-----------------------with no power steering,no Chad to make things all right,no cool suits just sheer guts they talk of it being 95 degrees on the track,if im not mistaken it was hot as heck back then too. the cars they drove back then were bulls sometimes, touch someone with the front and get it out of line, you continue and deal with it, Oh by the way no communication with that crew chief either--try seeing him on a dusty track at say 95mph.
You made do wally with that old 61 chevy remember? was your a/c working back then? Seems as i remember you wrenching and driving too right?
The good ole days were different, very different but so close to todays racing. Only difference is we did it with less, far less-----------------------------------MEMORIES
