Spotted a link to this video earlier this week. Its very well done. A film crew put together a 15 minute documentary of the first races on Nashville's 5/8 mile oval by Chase & Chaz Chaffin - sons of former Nashville champ Chad Chaffin. Chad also had a hit-and-miss Busch/Nationwide stint.
Its really neat to hear Chad as a dad, as a crew chief, and as a spotter as he coaches his sons. And its pretty enlightening to hear the boys as prepare for their races and then see their immediate reactions when the races are over.
Keep your eyes peeled for Sterling Marlin too. And the man leading the drivers' meeting is Tony Formosa Jr. He is the current track promoter. Growing up, I watched Tony's dad, Tony Sr. turn the wrench's on the limited sportsman, Lucky's Bar sponsored #80 car of Sonny Upchurch.
