LANCASTER, S.C. Jonathan Davenport pocketed a cool $30,000 for winning Saturdays Carolina Crown at Lancaster Speedway.

Steve Shaver grabbed the lead at the start of the 60-lap feature with Davenport hot on his heels. The two ran in the first two positions for the first 20 laps before Davenport made his move, taking the lead just before the halfway point.

A pair of cautions on laps 41 and 47 slowed the field and led directly into the 10-minute break at lap 50. The field returned to racing with Davenport in the lead, but with seven laps left the caution flag flew once again when fourth-place Dennis Franklin slowed.

The field returned to racing and Davenport slowly pulled away, beating Shaver and defending race winner Scott Autry to the finish line. Steve Francis and Tim Allen completed the top five.
