The first of a series of "snapshot" racing stories has been provided by the Scott family...legendary racer, Billy Scott and Ms. Barbara. You can click here to read the article.

We would like this forum topic to be a place to gather more stories from and about our Saturday Night Heroes.I think this is a great platform and an awesome opportunity to share more "racing then" stories from those who lived it. So, don't be shy. Have at it.

This is a great idea and the first Barabara (Billy) Scott story is wonderful.

Hey Folks!

Wish I could share a "story." I can't remember much about any particular event at the track I attended in my early youth. Just remember a fun time, loving the cars and the noise they generated. And I loved being in a wide open area in the infield.I remember my favorite driver was Tiny Lundand I remember meeting Buddy Baker in the pit area.I also recallan occasional demolition derby. My Pappy drove in those sometimes and he sponsored cars on various nights. I will make a point to interview him soon to gather more details.

In the meantime, I'm posting this little ditty I recently found again. Me at the Columbia Speedway in the 60's. If you look hard, you can see the speedway lights in the background.

You're slippin Pkl. Perhaps it is the continuing side effect of your northern body adjusting to grits.

Thanks!

Guess who I'm interviewing at 2 p.m. today? Pappy. Yippee! After 2 years of trying to work out the best time it's going to happen!
