CAYCE 200

COLUMBIA, SC. May 30, 1968

The 4TH Grand Touring race of 1968 was held at Columbia Speedway and was 200 laps on the 1/2 mile dirt oval. Donnie Allison put his Jerri Huggins Mustang on the pole but it was Buck Baker in a Camaro getting his first victory of the year. Tiny Lund had overheating problems and Bucks win gave him a one point lead in the standings.

Yes, I was there! I remember it was a great race but I don't remember specific details. I do remember cutting up with Tiny Lund afterwards. He was in a good mood (as he was most times) in spite of the disappointment. Thanks for posting Dennis. Thanks for the additions Chase.
