A portion of the dirt track, just down the road from the Talladega Super Speedway, was on fire Sunday evening. According to ABC 33/40, the blaze began around 8pm CT and is now out. The Lincoln Fire Department that responded to the incident also said no one was injured.
Officials from the Southern All Stars (Dirt Late Model Touring Series) stated on their twitter page that track owner Lynn Phillips confirmed to them that the press box / officials tower (also concession stand) on the frontstretch had burned to the ground and was a complete loss. Phillips told SAS that everything in the building was gone.
