RANKING

General

You did nothing wrong. We have been putting off re-evaluating the point system...and we are still working on it. We have realized the weight we put on certain things (seemed right at the time) needed to be changed to even out contributive efforts by all members. You'll see some more changes, but it will all work out for the best in the long run. The good thing....I didn't realize anyone was actually paying attention to them.Jeff

A discussion of sorts

Stock Car Racing History

I love them all...because you're right, Johnny. they represent the beginnings of this sport. We use what we have title "The Vintage Racing Gallery" to house the best of the best. for those that don't like wading through the mods and coupes...they can browse the over 13,000 pic in there. The real answer is for the guys with stock car pics to pick up the pace. Ed Sanseverino has really picked it up lately posting some classic photography. I say bring it on...bring it ALL on. We'll appreciate more and more as the years pass. We (you the members) have created a fantastic living, growing historical document to be enjoyed for years to come. some day...when $$$$s allow we will re-design RR with more abilities to categorize our content...and we'll be able to separate the photos even more. Can you imagine the job that will be to go through thousands and thousands them. For now...if folks will properly title and and fill in the tags...it will help in searching specific eras and types of pic. I greatly appreciate the contributions of all the folks who have gone through the effort to share their history with the rest.So all you folks with piles of Stock Car pics....get em scanned and uploaded and even out the load...lol. I'll enjoy every one of them.Jeff

Putting You in the drivers seat in Saturdays race

Current NASCAR

It would be a tough decision for me...I would be trying everything else...trying to partner with anyone else before any rookie..especially her. Not because she is a lady...but because she has less experience than probably any other rookie in history. She didn't event know how to read her gages and lights in the cockpit during the ARCA race. Most other rookies got their seat time driving something they are familiar with. These cars are still very foreign to her. Johnny, you know how you instincts take over many times in a race car...her instincts evolved in something totally different. If she avoids causing a huge wreck everyone will be lucky. She is certainly talented...and gutsy ...and that combination with a lot of hype and press (something to prove) might be dangerous. johnny mallonee said:
jeff picked up,on the idea i was painting--if she is as fast as she plans to be chasing that bumper may be a way to the front--now after you get to the front what do you do --follow the bumper wiggling in front of you or break out into the wind so to speak and hope she is a good dancing partner or?????? what to do what to do

green white checkered rule

Current NASCAR

Well, I am for ending the races under green...liked it when they came up with the gwc rule. I've only seen ...maybe a couple of times when/where this new rule would have made any difference at all....but them again, I've slept through quite a few of em over the past few years.Answer...I'm not sure if it helps.

Why are we here?

General

They have lost track of why people come to races because they have spent too much time worrying about what sponsors and team owners want....when all they need to do is listen to what the fans want and deliver. The fans will take care of the sponsors if they are passionate about the races and drivers.I have heard they have actually approached certain sponsors to see if the sponsor is "ok" with them adding/ allowing a little passion to show through the drivers.Based on what I'm hearing....fans want to see real drivers driving real cars with real feelings and a real appearance....rather than the orchestrated, polished, vanilla, made-for-sponsor-and-tv, boring, predictable, transparent, productions of the past few years. Get rid of the top 35 rule...."Go Fast or Go Home"....and let some of the talent with less-than-perfect teeth and great hair have a shot at making it.Just my opinion......but what do I know? I'm just a fan.
