Ad for the Fayetteville convertible race
Race report from The Dispatch . While Curtis and the GN crowd raced at Concord, Joe Lee Johnson was winning the convertible race about 3 hours away in Fayetteville.
Finishing order of convertible race. I didn't realize Roy Tyner had driven for Julian Petty. Found out he also drove one of "Uncle Julie's" Chevrolets the previous October in the only GN race ever held at Salisbury.

And another from the Spartanburg Herald which also included a race report of Rex White's win in the LMS race at Harris Speedway.
A few friends have had relatives who suffered an aneurysm - and its not fun. Lots of times, well...
One exception is a bud I met on-line who was an old school Petty fan who made the transition to being a fan of John Andretti in his days as a driver of the 43. Right during the heart of our posting on an "AndPetti" message board as it was called, his wife posted that he'd suffered an aneurysm. Dropped him. Remarkably, however, he was able to slowly but surely recover from it. We've lost touch in recent years as the time has lengthened since Andretti's days with Petty Enterprises. But the point is, he DID bounce back from his deal. Here's hoping Mrs. Flock can do the same.
Andy - saw the same this afternoon and was genuinely excited...at first. So far, most pics I've seen still have watermarks on them. Guessing it may take a while to bring Getty's clients around to agreeing to this solution. But I think it may bode well for sharing neat pics near without the WMs on them.
How the Spartanburg paper managed to run a wire report with "Freddie Baker" is beyond me. I checked many articles, and this was only I one I found that did so. Immediately I laughed as I imagined Fredo Corleone behind the wheel of a stock car.
"I can handle a car! I'm smart! Not like everybody says... like dumb... I'm smart and I want to drive!"
