Harold Rhodes funeral arraigements

Augusta racing pioneer ,Harold Rhodes, funeral will be held Saturday Feb. 12 2011 ay 11 am. Services will be at Posey Funeral Home on Georgia Ave. North Augusta SC. Visitation will be Friday eveniing also at Posey's.

AIRPS HOF member passes

Racing pioneer Harold Rhodes passes away at 2 am today 2/9/11. Mr. Rhodes was a car owner in both the local sportsman divisons in the 60's and on the GN circuit 1965-1968. His GN drivers were Joe Penland and Frank Warren. Mr. Rhodes also ran cars in other divisons including micro midgets. Arrangements to be announced later.

Come join us at the famed track. The only track in Nascar thet had a moonshine still under the third and fourth turns. I was in the office, with SMR, when the Ga. revenue agents wanted to blow it up. Don't go on ebay, no money, but my pictures have shown up at several websites with other watermark names on them.

Promoter needed

Looks like Gordon Park Speedway may be closed this season unless someone comes forward with a heavy checkbook. Last years operator is focusing on motorcycles and forgetting stock cars. This track is been on and off since it was the Hayloff Speedway in the early 50's. Hope someone will come running.
