I post pictures on both drag and stock car sites of Racersreunion.com., but I only hear from people on the stock car site. I am all the time getting notes of thanks from drivers ,family members of driver and just fans. Here on the drag site I have never heard from anyone. I hope somebody here enjoys the early 60's photos I have up loaded , For some real drag racing come to Carolina Dragway , the House of Hook .in Jackson SC.

AIS 50th Anniversary

Saturday May 1 st will be the 50 th anniversary of the opening of Augusta International Speedway. Though it only operated for 10 years we work to keep the memory alive. There will be a meeting of AIRPS at 11 am at Diamond Lakes Community Center with a ballon release at noon in front of the momument All are invited to join us. www.augustainternationalraceway.org

Joe Cawley dies

It is with heavy heart that Augusta International Raceway Preservation Society, reports that it's President Joe Cawley died at home 11/18/16 in Augusta GA. Mr Cawley a noted racing historian and photographer had been published in many newspaper, magazines and books.Joe has many photographs on the RacersReunion.com website. Services will be held Monday 11/21/16 at Begg Funeral Home in Thomson GA at 2 pm. Visitation will be at 1 pm.
