Johnny, What struck me was how different these cars are from anything I am familiar with. I've never ran a stock car at Charlotte but I have ran Formula Vee's there and even in those small cars the wall will just suck you into it when you come off of turn two. Dad said the GT/GA, Sportsman and Grand National cars were the same way back in the day. Running the bottom in one and two the car would really drift out to the wall off of two. Now if you have to be careful to keep the car off the wall when you run the bottom it has got to be harder to do when you run the top. Less room to let the car move up the track. It is hard for me to imagine that the longer turn radius at the top would make that much difference but I guess it does. And they must not run the caster spread that we used to run before power steering. Back then you had to hold the car up on the straights to keep it from going to the bottom.
The other thing that I thought was that was the best 10 laps J Mac ever drove.
Johnny, Throw in a road course like Atlanta of VIR and you may have something worth watching.
Sorry to hear this. I pray for God's peace and comfort for the family.
Darrell liked controversy. It gave him a chance to talk in front of a camera.
I did know Mr. Day personally but Knew him when I saw him and have seen a few of his cars. R.I.P. Mr. Day and I pray for God's comfort for the family.
Thanks Dave. I remember Rich but did not remember that he was responsible for bringing NASCAR coverage to WRAL.
Inspiring Jerry. I hope he gets a win this year.
