SHREK AND DONKEY ARE HAVING A WORD FIGHT OVER FINISH

Current NASCAR

Ok now Shrek and Donkey are at wits after Sundays race it seems. Donkey was watching from behind as Shrek and Kurt ran side by side with Matt hunting a hole and then it happened-- both spun out leaving Matt and Donkey to proceed.."I really hated that Kurt got tore up, (Donkey) Kyle Busch said. I felt like he had the best car. And was proud of them guys but, man, just stupidity. I mean Ryan Newman's the biggest stupid idiot out here, and he's a big ogre and can do whatever he wants because he can probably kick anybody's butt. So no sense in getting in a fight with him, but glad he's out of a job." But a whisk of wind says otherwise, like maybe the seat is already mounted for the no neck guy..

According to USA Today, Newman (SHREK) who has not announced his 2014 plans after it was officially confirmed last weekend that he will not return to Stewart-Haas Racing offered a light-hearted take on Buschs (Donkey)s reaction.

"I'm just afraid if I re-arranged his face I might fix it," Newman said with a laugh on SiriusXM Radio's NASCAR Channel, according to the report. "He's frustrated finishing third or wherever he was after hitting me first and then getting a little rub down the straightaway. Just imagine how I feel. It is what it is.

"We know that he's not very bright. He's a heck of a talent but he's not very bright. And I'll leave it at that." At that they go off into the Forrest to resume their hunt for the perfect ------------------- !!

SMOKE STRETCHING IT KINDA THIN THESE NEXT TWO WEEKS

Stock Car Racing History

Nascar posted this up that Tony will be running 11 Sprint car races in the next 14 days, that was posted July 12 2013. Any of yall want to take your vintage racer and go run with him? Wonder how many other Sprint cup drivers will fun with him. Just think back a few years when we used to run multiple day/night races in a week.

With the Sprint Cup Series off until July 28, it is vacation time again for NASCAR's Tony Stewart. After a tough weekend in New Hampshire that saw him finish 26th and fall to 13th place in the Sprint Cup point standings, Stewart will return to his first love this week in New York state -- sprint cars.

Stewart begins three nights of racing in our area Tuesday at Canandaigua Motorsports Park as an open 360-sprint car show will see him compete against many of the same drivers that were in town recently for Sprint Speed Weeks. His most recent finish at Canandaigua is fourth place last August when he raced with the Empire Super Sprints. Open tire sportsman and crate late models will also be on the card. Race time is 7:30 p.m..

On Wednesday, Stewart will join the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions, a traveling 410 sprint car series, at the Fulton Speedway. Fellow cup racer Kasey Kahne will also be on hand serving as grand marshall for the event. Both drivers will speak to the crowd after the qualifying heat races. he is in his own element on dirt there, Sounds kinda familiar doesnt it,relaxing and having fun on a mean ole rough dirt track on any given nite or day --------------------------------------------------------- memories

AND ITS CALLED LOVE ? ? hmmmmm

Current NASCAR

They get up in the morning and go have breakfast together, talk a little puppy love, finish their coffee and say lets go racing. Most of this could happen at any early breakfast of racers with the exception of the puppy love talk,or maybe not------- B U T, Danica Patrick triggered a three-car accident when she rear-ended her boyfriend Ricky Stenhouse Jr. at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. WHAT WAS THAT? The collision propelled Stenhouse into Travis Kvapil entering Turn 2 on Sunday to bring out the ninth caution on Lap 237. Did he just right rear us? Stenhouse asked over the radio. No,not exactly it was the someone else you know that drives the 10, replied his spotter Mike Calinoff. Patrick had been running on the lead lap prior to contact with AJ Allmendinger on Lap 218. But after initial damage to her car, Patrick was just hoping for a decent finish.

Now Picture this -- This is what the cop heard about the bump --What it felt like was either I misjudged the braking or everyone jammed up a little bit, Patrick said. I got sideways trying to slow down so that I didnt drive up into the back of anyone. I just got sideways and there is nothing you can do. The worst part is that you know obviously I didnt want to take anybody with me. I feel bad, what can I say. We were having a reasonable race and just didnt mean to do it,and she isnt even Blonde.. Now the talk over a late dinner between the two could go --- you bumped me out of the race so you got to pay for the meal, then the small talk resumed and turned to --------------------------------------------- memories

AND THIS TO GO ALONG WITH KEVIN MOVING

Current NASCAR

Ryan Newman will bid farewell to Stewart-Haas Racing at the end of 2013.

As part of the Kevin Harvick move to SHR, team owner Tony Stewart confirmed Friday that Newman will not be involved with the organization next season. At this time, Stewart doesnt believe its in the companys best interest to field more than three cars. Along with Stewart, Danica Patrick joined SHR last season.

I truly wish we were able to facilitate four teams at this time, Stewart said. Were just not able to do that. Down the road, Im sure if that becomes a possibility, he will definitely be on the list to fill the fourth seat again.

Newman, 35, has been part of SHR since the companys inception in 2009 and is 16th in this seasons points standings. Newman started his NASCAR career in 2000 with Penske Racing and has 16 career Sprint Cup wins including three since joining SHR. He ranks third among active drivers for most pole awards with 49.

When Newman spoke exclusively with FOX Sports earlier this month at Kentucky, he said, I just want to race some place where Im wanted, where people are happy Im there.

Newman has been mentioned as a possible 2014 candidate for Richard Childress Racing and Earnhardt Ganassi Racing.

Although Newmans contract with SHR ended last season, he earned a one-year reprieve as the organization ramped up for Harvicks arrival next year.

Still, Stewart says hell continue to support Newman and believes in the driver of the No. 39 Chevy.

Unfortunately, this will be the last year that we have Ryan with us, Stewart said Friday. Thats probably whats made this a bittersweet day. Im bringing in one of my friends to the organization knowing that Im losing a friend at the end of the year.

The number one thing when Ryan and I spoke was our friendship will not change. This was a business decision that was Genes (Haas) as well as mine. It was a hard decision. Theres a personal side, and theres a business side, and for Ryan and I, we had to put the personal bit aside to work through the business part of it. But Ill do everything I can to help Ryan moving forward to help his effort to find another team next year.

AFTER JAMES HYLTON RETIRES THIS GUY SHOWS UP

Stock Car Racing History

And as Bill McPEEK said "OLD GUYS DO RULE"

On the day Morgan Shepherd was born in the tiny hamlet of Ferguson, N.C., to a Wilkes County moonshine runner and his wife, NASCAR was still more than six years away from being created.

Sunday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, the 71-year-old Shepherd will officially become the oldest driver in NASCAR Sprint Cup history when he pilots a Brian Keselowski-owned Toyota in the Camping World RV Sales 301 at the 1.058-mile track.

Looking for the NASCAR on FOX blog? Check out Shake and Bake.

It will be Shepherds 515th career Sprint Cup start dating back to June 20, 1970 at Hickory, N.C.

And he wont just be setting the age record, hell be shattering it: The current record for the oldest Cup driver was set by Jim Fitzgerald when he was 65 years, 6 months and 20 days and raced at Riverside International Raceway on June 21, 1987.

This is truly a milestone, great opportunity and I thank all who are involved to help make this happen, said Shepherd. My first Sprint Cup race since 2006. Will be good to be back for such a historical day. Plus, I love racing at New Hampshire.

For his career, Shepherd has posted four race victories at the Sprint Cup level, along with 63 top-five and 168 top-10 finishes. His best seasons came in 1990, when he finished fifth in points driving for Bud Moore, and 1994 with Wood Brothers Racing, where he ended the year sixth in points.

Shepherds last full season in NASCARs top division came in 1996, when he drove for Butch Mock. For his career, Shepherd has earned $10,463,007 in the Cup Series.

STAR POWER
Three-time champ Tony Stewart's impact goes beyond driving. Check out his top accomplishments.

In recent years, Shepherd has competed in NASCARs AAA division, the Nationwide Series, with his own low-budget, largely unsponsored team known as Faith Motorsports. A devout Christian, Shepherds bright green No. 89 Nationwide car carried a Victory In Jesus logo on the hood.

Two years ago, Shepherd made headlines when he helped capture two teenagers suspected of robbing a Walmart near Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Despite being 69 years old at the time, he wrestled one of them to the ground and handcuffed him while the police got the other one in custody.

Shepherds tireless efforts have drawn the attention of his fellow racers, most notably three-time Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart, who on several occasions has bought tires and parts for Shepherd.

There are a lot of people who care about him as a person and they respect him as a race car driver, Stewart said of Shepherd after a Nationwide race at Talladega Superspeedway in 2008. When you can do something like that to help someone out, its worthwhile.
