rolex 24 hrs race handing out penalities like NASCAR

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP)

The third-place finisher in last weekend's Rolex 24 at Daytona has been hit with harsh penalties for a rules violation.

Grand-Am Road Racing stripped the No. 60 Ford Riley of Michael Shank Racing of its podium finish, $35,000 in prize money and 30 championship points.

The sanctioning body discovered mechanical adjustments to the car's engine, which resulted in ''performance levels outside the documented maximums.''

Shank says the team is ''as surprised about this as anyone. We know that the guys will figure out what when wrong and make sure we are not in this position again.''

The No. 60 team, the 2011 Rolex winners, rallied from seven laps down this year and competed for the victory during the final laps of the endurance race.

Well the silly season is supposed to be gone by now-----BUT it seems as though strange things may be in the works.

First MWR is opening up a body shop,no not a car shop but a guy type of a shop. You see Mark has come up with this deal that if he buffs up all the teams no other teams will confront them on pit road--(could this be a plan or rather a back up plan in case Clint wants to sprint off into the ,whatever).. They have the weight machines in place and I guess the pool for hot laps too.. And to top it off Kasey is flaunting a new Do,Hair do that is. and he must be blowing in the thumb because he seems as though he is getting ready for the 2013 Rumble..

Other happenings are going on on pit road but if you dont sniff them out you will just have to wait ----Until later.

Well Morgan has "one" motor so lets see how long he can go on one engine, But that will also tell the durability of the little Dart Engine
