Now if you watched the video did it remind you of anything you saw last weekend??
Now if that got your attention at least for a minute this is what racing at Oglethorpe Speedway Park in Savannah Ga is paying this weekend. Makes me wish I had at least a super street car and it pays just if you start---but wait ,didnt someone say they didnt like starting and parking? this is new twist to it---read the specs before you answer it watch this short video to smell the Aroma
Racing today with these kind of purses could cause drastic circumstances to the likes of NASCAR.
Below is this weekends payout, but I dont know if people can run for this amount of money,CAN YOU??
Is it just a rumor or is Dodge going to promote a car in 2013. Jeff Hammond says so, who is the team or teams---any answers ??
was it the driver ??? or the crew chief??? or the owner???? whos call was it really ----- now its your call on this answer
Well it was a decent race at the monster mile with Kyle and Dennie showing JimmIE not everyone drives a Chevy. He never saw the front till later in the race but then it became a fuel Mileage game then. Some had problems all race like Tony,he just wasnt a front player, others worked and finally got some kinks out to start towards the front.
But in the end it was a Bad Boy BRAD in the end. Mileage wasnt a problem for him,. Jimmie was instructed not to run over 80% throttle (thats not racing) and Kyle had to hit the pits for splash of gas.
Bobby Allison was there and compared two of todays drivers to David Pearson and himself I guess,it sounded that wat when he said Kyle was able to drive anything to the front.
But he compared David Pearson to Jimmie Johnson saying he was quiet and calculating in his moves, sounds kinda right dont you think??
All in all next week will get the kinks out of everyone when they drop off into that first turn at Talladega ..
Well here I go with what little I can add to Tommies info--the equipt looks like the stuff that was out on the site, I played on most of it growing up. Barney Smith was a man who it seemed was always around those original guys who I call the original Ga gang. Many a day he would appear up on Broadway at Bluestone transmission Shop to check up on the cars that were housed there during the week.
I was little when the whole bunch went to Palmer Speedway --I think this is what they are calling Warner Robins Super Speedway--it was back in the 50's but Charlie Tidwell was there along with the midget who always was him. Barney Smith was a nice guy to me,always giving me something. When I get Time I will go through some of my old photos of around the early 50's Some are already posted here on my page if you want to look at them.
this is one of my dads cars
