Current NASCAR

Tempers flared during Sprint Cup practice on Friday at Kentucky Speedway after there was contact between Brad Keselowski and Juan Pablo Montoya .

Keselowski went to the NASCAR hauler on his own volition following two run-ins on the track Montoya once the final practice ended.

Title's there for the taking as Stewart's time of year arrives. NASCAR Power Rankings

Im looking forward, Keselowski said after leaving the hauler. Ive got to go qualify my (Nationwide) car, Ive got to go make it race, so I dont have time to worry about that.

Keselowski said he would leave his discussion with NASCAR between them and me." With that, Montoya's spotter Jeff Dickerson followed Keselowski into the side door of the Miller Lite transporter.

Keselowski believed that Montoya instigated the first one, which happened before the first lap was in run practice, that resulted in the No. 2 Penske Racing team pulling out a back-up car in opening practice. Then, after assisting the team with setting up the second car, Keselowski sent Montoya a message in Happy Hour that he wouldnt be monkeyed with on the track by tapping the No. 42s left rear quarter panel between Turns 3 and 4.

And that drew the caution flag from NASCAR.

After the first practice, SPEED asked Montoya what happened with Keselowski, and driver replied, I would like to know as well. I came out of the pits. They told me he had a big run. I put my hand out to wave at him. I started turning and running high. I think he thought hed cleared me and he was probably going to run high and run straight into me. We didnt even do a lap. I wasnt even up to speed.

I was really shocked. I saw him coming, I waved, I saw him beside me. I left two grooves on the bottom and he still hit me. Its just what it is.

Keselowski posted the second-fastest lap in Happy Hour at 174.633 mph. Montoya was 43rd on the speed chart with a lap of 169.348 mph
