Historic Speedways and Ghost Tracks
The new DVD on AIRPS was shown today at a preshowing at Augusta Diamond Lakes Memorial Center.It is a really interesting movie of racing from its beginning to the final end at the facility.The DVD will be available for purchase later this month. Below is the cover of movie scanned to give you a little heads up on whats in it.

Dave, I think you're right, they didn't interview Jill even though that Hylton 48 car was destroyed. Danicaaa was interviewed immediately after race winner Bobby Gerhart. I saw some of the most biased reporting I've seen in a long time. Almost looked like Darrel was slipped some money from Go Daddy.

Sometimes I wish that Speed/ABC/ESPN would remember there's 43 drivers and not just 4..

The definition of roots is wide,if you are talking of a movie that was produced a few years ago yes that was a ploy of words and little fact stirred in-- In racing the term would mean back to the beginning when the tracks were just beginning to come out the ground per say, Evolution in many forms has played a role in the structuring of Nascar through the years-- The original players were common folk like you and I and were only wanting to have a little fun and this monster called Nascar is the outcome,so back to your roots would be where it all started????? my opinion only, heck lets just go racing
Tim, remember later on it was proven, and Alex Haley admitted Roots was a work of fiction. In other words, Roots was a fantasy. Just as is Waltrip's version of "Roots" is a fantasy. Did anyone other than me notice how many times D.W. said the words "roots" during the Shootout lost night? And he was talking about Alex Haley. He kept saying "NASCAR recognizing its roots" "NASCAR returning to its roots". Someone who recorded the shootout and has the time, please watch and count the times. I really didn't pick up on the frequent references until after the break. I heard him say it at the start of the program and smiled in satisfaction that NASCAR is, at least, pretending to acknowledge that all of we folks here aren't living in The Twilight Zone.

dang good coverup going on down there now-- you cant find an inkling of it now --so word got out and they squashed it i guess im still prying and snooping and asking around--others down there in the know say they have wind of it but nothing in writing as of yet--so stay tuned i guess or better yet you go on a witch hunt yourself
