in todays great expanse of modern electronics when you have a failure or your tv will not hook up to the correct station how long does it take to get a repairman out to correct this???well RR had a malfunction this morning sometime,i surely wasnt up at that hour, but the staff at RR should be delighted that the owner and ceo jumped out of bed at the ungodly hour he did and diligently and efficently got the site back on track so as you,the public, will not miss the premier broadcast of RR on radio tonite to the world, maybe even to the space station too.So next time your tv or phone or laptop goes haywire just set and wish you had a repairman remotely close to our C E O and owner/announcer and all around great guy.Three cheers for an ole retired driver that still knows how to get it done

basically what i been preaching pete i ve said it a dozen different ways too but the words are the same in the end Pete Banchoff said:
I still think they have to go back to a recognizable stock body by manufacturer. There is no brand loyalty anymore. I think 2 cars per team would help eliminate the monopolies of Hendrick and Roush. They might still win, but sometimes the little teams can outperform the super teams. I'd also like to eliminate the top 35 and make the teams qualify for a race. If you're too slow, GO HOME and work on it for next week!

And as Jeff said, getting rid of Brian France and his 'brilliant hairbrained ideas" would bring some fans back, but the hardcore oldtimer needs to see more of the traditions upheld. It's the oldtimer who took his buddies, the kids and grandkids to stock car races that turned them into diehard fans. I wish I could get my kids interested in something that my dad gave me, but there just isn't anything in Nascar for me to pass down. My kids could care less! It's going to die if something isn't done.

The decline in TV ratings is especially troubling for NASCAR because the sport has also seen a dramatic drop in attendance. Despite drops in ticket prices throughout the circuit to help offset a poor economy, there were tens of thousands of empty seats at races from Charlotte to Michigan to California this season. NASCAR just isnt what it was at its crest of popularity at the turn of the century. The cars are different from days of old in that theyre all the same. The drivers are different from days of old in that theyre of the same mold. The racing is different from days of old in that there doesnt seem to be as much excitement. In days of old, it seemed someone was getting upside down every weekend. These days, someone gets upside down maybe once, twice a year. The geography is different in that NASCAR greedily decided some seven years ago to move away from its southern roots by giving more races to places like California in hopes of bigger paydays.Of course, a lot of the above has alienated many hardcore NASCAR fans. Some, in fact, have sworn off NASCAR forever and now get their racing fix at local tracks. If you were on the board at NASCAR, what are some changes you would seriously consider:

i gave it to you to go somewhere with it any other info you need ask and i will dig it up Jay Sellers said:
I like it, and I would like to help write a song about Tim. Do you mind if I move the words around some, and add a few, or do you have to have it just like it's written?I need some more info about Tim. Like dates, races he was in, and some famous people that were in the races. I already know that he came in second in his firast race without any brakes, because they busted his brake line pulling the car to the race with a chain and a pole. That's cool stuff. I'll get to work on it.We might get that second CD out yet!!

Is racing getting outside the box???

General

As most of us on here grew up we die hard racers were part of the Big Three format and their offspring units. Olds won a few,Pontiac got theirs and so on. Even the strange ones won like Hudson and Studebaker got their nitch in . So having said that we all set back in our rockers and drank soft drinks, ate moms apple pie and listened and watched our favorite brand duel it out with the others. Because back in the day it was win on sunday sell on monday at the car sales industry. Then some crackerhead in Fla come up with this idea of restricting the motor or more like strangling it it to control the speed,oh wait then they said lets make them all use the same car so we can control downforce.Well now comes time for the new kid on the block to step up,welcome Toyota to the show and be sure to use our specs now. Well they did and are now riding along with the others in the box. Now on to todays racing and now someone wants to add fuel injection instead of carbs,I guess someone found a loophole in the restrictor plate, but here is the catch, with them using injection you open up our sport to all sorts of other brands, like Volts Wagon and Honda just to mention a few so now the delima begins for you reading thisAre we still inside that shoe box or is the lid off now and are we on the same path as forumla one or grande touring, if so then our sport is what???? YOU ANSWER IT HERE
