A NEW DEVELOPMENT DRIVER SPOTTED IN THE PADDOCK AT ATLANTA MOTORSPORTS PARK

Current NASCAR

A new driver was seen testing and participating in a race this weekend. Anyone recognize this driver? Looks like he could be taking lessons from Richard Petty.

For Sale

Mid America Motorplex is a State of the Art motor racing facility located conveniently adjacent to Interstate 29 minutes South of the Omaha Council Bluffs Metro area near Pacific Junction Iowa. This race track broke ground in 2001 and has hosted SCCA, IHRA, NASA, Viper Club, Porsche Club, BMW club, many Motorcycle sanctions as well as driving events for car dealerships and training for law enforcement and civil service organizations.

This World Class facility is an Alan Wilson designed and FIA inspected and approved Motor racing complex capable of hosting all amateur and professional racing organizations.

the 2.23 mile 15 turn road course is one of the most challenging road courses in the country for drivers and is an excellent spectator track with bleachers that have a view of the entire track surface.

The 1/8 mile drag strip has a large weekly following of racers and spectators.

AT the intersection of Highway 34 and Interstate 29, Just minutes south of Council Bluffs Iowa. Only thing missing is half mile dirt track and then it would be the perfect playground for a certain bunch of old racers ... Dirt track, drag strip, road course and plenty of room to expand.

AND THE DRIVER OF THAT CAR IS----------------------------------------------------------------- ?

Current NASCAR

A start at next years score card or rather where the markers fall.here is a few of the new seat warmers, some were expected but some are still a question mark. Read and then put your two cents worth in writing, should be some great remarks......

After 13 seasons, Kevin Harvick is moving on from Richard Childress Racing.Stewart Hass has his seat ready and waiting

No. 7 Tommy Baldwin Racing Chevy: Dave Blaney is being replaced by Nationwide Series driver Michael Annett, who brings the Pilot/Flying J sponsorship with him that was previously at Richard Petty Motorsports. RPM is working on sponsorship for its Nationwide team for Corey LaJoie.

No. 14 Stewart Haas Racing Chevy: Although Mark Martin has subbed for the recovering Tony Stewart, the three-time champ is expected to return in time for Daytona Speedweeks. Martin, 54, will test the No. 14 Chevy in the offseason but will not be in the 2014 Daytona 500 field.

No. 29 (3) Richard Childress Racing Chevy: With Harvicks departure, Nationwide Series and former truck champ Austin Dillon will fill the seat. Gil Martin stays on as the crew chief. Sponsors TBD.

No. 31 Richard Childress Racing: Jeff Burton has been bumped by Ryan Newman. Burton is expected to warm the seat in the third Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota, perhaps along with a few rising stars to be named later, before transitioning to the NBC NASCAR broadcast booth.

No. 41 Stewart-Haas Racing: After a solid season with Furniture Row Racing, Kurt Busch will transition into the newly created team orchestrated by Gene Haas. Although Matt Borland was rumored to be his crew chief, Daniel Knost, team engineer on the No. 39 Chevy, is expected in that role.

No. 42 Earnhardt Ganassi Racing: Kyle Larson is taking over for Juan Pablo Montoya, who returns to open wheel after seven mediocre seasons in stock cars. Larson, the latest Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year, has shown great promise and will continue his double duty run in NASCARs top two divisions. Montoya will compete in IndyCar for Roger Penske.

No. 47 JTG/Daugherty Racing: Team owner Tad Geschickter has opted to put a younger driver in the car, AJ Allmendinger. However, NASCARs 2000 Sprint Cup champ, Bobby Labonte, has been offered a role inside of the organization. Although it was quite unexpected, Labonte who has titles in both Cup and the Nationwide Series has not discounted that a truck ride is out of the question in an effort to be NASCARs first Triple Crown winner.

IT ADDS UP
Where did your favorite driver finish in the 2013 final standings?

No. 51 Phoenix Racing: Not sure whether new team owner Harry Scott will change the name of his race team, but regardless, Justin Allgaier will be the primary driver with Steve Addington as his crew chief.

No. 55 Michael Waltrip Racing: Although Brian Vickers wasnt expected to jump in the seat full-time until 2014, the door opened early when Mark Martin left to sub for Tony Stewart in the No. 14 Chevy. Nevertheless, when Vickers was diagnosed with a blood clot last month, his succession was further delayed with Elliott Sadler filling in for the remainder of the season. Vickers is expected to return in time for Speedweeks in February. If not, that will be quite the dilemma for MWR.

No. 56 Michael Waltrip Racing: Expect to see Michael Waltrip behind the wheel at Daytona. Following Speedweeks, its likely that Jeff Burton will be driving the organization's R&D car.

No. 78 Furniture Row Racing: Martin Truex Jr. takes over for Kurt Busch at FRR. But he will have a big seat to fill after Busch broke every team record set over the previous eight seasons, with the exception of earning a win. Still, if Truex qualifies for the Chase next season, it will be quite the coup. Truex will have an advantage since hes bringing his pit crew with him a weakness Busch endured through most of the season.

No. 95 Leavine Fenton Racing: With Phil Parsons team headed for the mothballs, Michael McDowell is expected to drive the No. 95 Ford next year

O---BY THE WAY he did it again

Current NASCAR

If you listen to John Boy and Billy you would have heard Hermie Saddler bring up the issue of that so called sports announcer denounce JimmIE as an athlete. Hermie and the cast told off the big bloke who claims to be an expert on racing. I laughed at the bunch because on the show are Nascar fans and after the show I think Fax lost a few points and probably a bunch of fans. Now I would like to hear how ole Boogity Boogity describes this ...

Well now he has 6 championships, one more and he will tie Richard and Dale. And he announced that he wants 8 championships. I guess if he continues at this rate and the halo stays put he just might make it.

WAY TO GO JIMMIE

RICH KIDS HAVING FUN ?

General

Sometime Saturday morning the TV was on a sports channel, most likely ESPN or Speed. I wasnt in the bedroom watching but rather in the adjoining room taking care of business ---- WHEN --- I heard a voice (a female no less) say that Nascar is a bunch of rich kids having fun. This had the rest on the panel chime in saying that there was no comparison between Nascar and real sports like stick and ball games.

It seemed they singled Jimmie Johnson saying he was playing with another's fortune. Guess he was referring to Rick Hendricks. Another voiced that the scuffles were preplanned.

After the short debate they moved on to other real sports,as they described it.

Point being is if a young or new possible fan heard that short description of racing what would they think. True there is no comparison in sports which do not use a stick or ball I dont think you have to be a rich kid to partake in Racing or even baseball.

Babe Ruth came from an orphanage look where he ended up and Wendell Scott started with nothing and raced with below means until the latter part of his super-speedway career.

To play ball you have to almost have to have played in College, thats not cheap by no means but a few have did it

With point being made how did the dialogue get past the sensors without a disclaimer, or maybe this is the new belief

Did anyone else hear this or was it like water on a Ducks back....??
