Lex Dudas & the Lagana Bros. on Racin' & Rockin' April 23!

Current Drag Racing

Folks:

Below is the list I compiled from American Bandstand's first 7 years...from August 5th, 1957 till July 31st, 1964, which was the first show that featured the music of The Beatles. I stopped there.
The show was weekly from Philadelphia until July 1st, 1964 when they moved to California, then it was on every day...
Elvis, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones never performed live on the show, but I did include some of Elvis' chart hits. Not every show featured performers. A lot of shows were only showing the dancers. I'll elaborate on all of this in my segment. But it was Dick Clark who broke numerous barriers and put rock n' roll on the map in the mainstream media when it was still regarded as a crude, vulgar backdrop for juvenile delinquency.
INCREDIBLE, POWERFUL MUSIC!!!! LONG LIVE ROCK!!!! HAIL, HAIL, DICK CLARK!!!!
Looking forward to a great show Monday night! Enjoy this beautiful day!
The song of American Bandstand's early years that I picked as my favorite is "Little Darlin'" by The Diamonds.
Thanks, JB

Jeep Hampshire and Bill Pratt on Racin' & Rockin' April 16!

Drag Racing History

Below is the list of songs I have compiled for The Jazz-Rock Fusion Phenomena.

Some, if not most, of these songs will be difficult if not impossible to locate. Just do what
you can and we'll be fine. If the specific song isn't available but other material by the same
artist is, heck, then let's just use that! (most of these guys played together at one time
or another anyway).
I'll talk enough about all this stuff to cover my segment...whatever happens after that will be
party-time music. Sounds like jazz already to me!
The song of the Jazz-Rock Fusion era that I picked is "The Noonward Race" by The
Mahavishnu Orchestra.
Looking forward to the show!
Here are the Jazz-Rock Fusion songs and artists. Enjoy! JB
