Virgil Hartman & John Hale on Racin & Rockin November 7!
Nostalgia Drag Racing
Ladies & Gents:
Below is the list of songs I picked for 2010. Virgil Hartman put a highly competitive Top Fuel Dragster on the track at Charlotte that year with Rhonda driving.
I am going to focus on substance over image for the segment. There were some incredibly great songs that got recorded in '10. However, of the songs I checked out (I got to where I could tell what was coming just by looking at the title), almost all of them were sung by what sounded like children, using manufactured digital music with shallow, middle-school lyrics...or gangstas trying to offend everybody...
I barely was able to add one Taylor Swift song as an example, and I completely left Justin Bieber off the list. There are countless imitations of the artists I have featured here, and of the ones I left off the list as well...even more. That's the way they run that business now.
Again, I was not going with the trends, rather I was looking for true meaning and artistry. I found some, but it was buried under a mountain of marshmallows.
The song of the year for 2010 is... (check in to find out!)
Looking forward to the show! Seems like forever since we did one last! Cheers, JB
