Happy Belated Birthday wish Dave! Haven't been on the site in a few days so I almost missed it. Hope you had a great one!
Not Big E.! My heart is heavy this morning as this is truly unsettling news... This is the first account I have heard...E. was a great team player but more so was just one of the few and far between type people that automatically drew a warm response from EVERYONE that met him. Dave, your description of his gentle nature was spot on and deserved to be boughtto the forefront of this article. Big E. was a gentleman in every sense of the word in ALL situations. Although it has been sometime now since I last conversed with E.
I write this with tears in my eyes and a smile on my face remembering the miles we traveled upand down the highway together doing what we all loved doing. Some of the best times of my life were spent around thisgentle giant of a guy.
Rest in Peace my good friend Eric you ran one hell of a race and have now left the Cup Garage for a far greater place, godspeed dear friend.
Thanks for this post Dave as I am gratefulfor receiving thenews.
Mikey is no different than others in that we all get on someone's nerves. I know I sure as hell do!
Let me guess who we are talking about, Kyle Larson maybe? Just wondering.
Dennis, I dont know if this helps but if my memory serves me correctly, and I am going strictly off memory , I do remember the car and I am pretty sure it was purple? They only ran this car a few times and Randy was back to where he came from, Florida.
OOPS correction, I just now looked it up, car was NOT purple. Seems I can rely on my memory to serve me correctly anymore like I can rely on our goverment to do the same. Neither seem to be working at all these days!
I think the purple car I remember form the early 70's was probably Ron Keselowski's (Brad's uncle) purple #88. That car only ran a few events as well.
Chase,
BSR stood for Butch Stevens racing I thought. Bill just worked for Butch at BSR. Or WAS it Bill Seifert Racing and Butch worked with him? Always thought it was Butch's place for some unbeknownst reason. I guess actually Chase I don't know what the hell I am even talking about! lol
Thanks for the info Dave. I knew that Bill had went with Butch after leaving Banjo but it has been many a year since I have heard anything at all even remotely tied to him until this picture posted by Jim came up.
LeeRoy in the Bill Seifert Special. Anyone know where Bill Seifert is these days?
I never made it the Silver Bucket Dave , but at one time he had a restaurant and bar in Wrightsville Beach, N.C. which is where I met him. He would on occasion go to the races with us and to me it was a treat because I loved just listening to some of his stuff. Likable fellow for sure.
