As I stated when Cody first posted this news Sunday, too bad Joe Gibbs doesn't have the same intestinal fortitude of Roger Penske and Jack Roush. If he let baby brother go, then daddy would have to start his own racing series for his boys.... the Busch Series!

Having been a huge Lombardi fan, I have often made the same comment Jim. Wonder how many of today's race fans know that Winkie Louise, Miss Firebird, married the Super Bowl winning Packers' famous pulling guard Jerry Kramer, one of Lombardi's all-time favorites?
Ya know, Jim... last night I watched the old football movie Knute Rockne - All American. Not one single place in that movie did the Gipper, the Four Horsemen, or any other athlete spike the ball, pretend to be Superman opening his shirt, make a fake cell phone call, turn a flip or anything else after a score, except place the football on the ground or hand it to an official. Personally all this smoking the tires, turning flips, climbing the fencecrap after a win is extremely juvenile to me. Maybe in the old days drivers would have celebrated like that, too, if they didn't worry where they'd get a motor if they blew up the one they just won with. I guess I'm a crabby old man and not the yippie, hippie, generation X or whatever demographic NASCAR and its Lucky Dog rules are supposed to appeal to these days.Will just have to get by on my memories., I guess.
I'm sure all of the Jeff Gordon fans would just as soon Jeff hadn't momentarily thought he was in the NBA instead of NASCAR.
