Perry, in the 1960 crash didn't Johns' car clip the edge of the backstretch observation stand, before hitting the pit wall? That is where I thought the description 'timber and wood flying' came from.

Perk Brown Got Around - More Often Than Not He Won

Stock Car Racing History

I think Perk had 33 wins when he took the career lead at BGS in 1968, but he finished with 47 feature wins, along with the 3 championships. Thanks for the story, the Perk and Ray picture is great!

#3 Poised for Return to Cup Circuit?

Stock Car Racing History

That's the point, 3 has been a famous and popular number, used by a lot of famous drivers and car owners for a long time, and has always moved along to the next one, so I see no reason why it shouldn't now.
