Battle at the Beach Late Model finish

Stock Car Racing History

I think it was a case of race hard or lose. I saw him run 2 years ago at New Smyrna and again last year and he is a great young driver. Anyone who drives 132 races like he did in 2012 is a serious driver. He needs to make sure this incident is an isolated thing, He doesn't need a reputation as a dirty driver, he's to good for that.

Great looking car. A big shout out to all the RR guys/ Bell & Bell Folks who made the long tow down for the parade. I saw Bobby and his entourage in South Georgia just before noon today as I returned from South Carolina on I-95.

I called a friend of mine in the NASCAR vault and he said the official race results for those two races show the following... You know how things get changed lol

Fireball Roberts 2nd in 1950- 33rd in 1957

Lee Petty 6th in 1950- 24th in 1957

Cotton Owens 7th in 1950 - 2nd in 1957

Fonty Flock 28th in 1950- 48th in 1957

Curtis Turner 60th in 1950- 11th in 1957

Buck Baker 69th in 1950--- 5th in 1957

1957 Southern 500 Trivia

Stock Car Racing History

My guess for the 6 drivers who started both the 1950 & 1957 Southern 500 is

Buck Baker

cotton Owens

Lee petty

Fireball Roberts

Fonty Flock

Curtis Turner

I don't know who was repo'd from the starting line but that's funny. A side note and possible trivia point is Johnny Mantz the winner of the 1950 Southern 500 was the slowest qualifier and started 43rd. The 4th place

finisher Bill Rexford won the championship that year because Red Byron who finished 3rd in the 500 and Lee Petty who finished 6th had their points stripped earlier in the year for running non sanctioned races and started from scratch in points.

A Flashback for The Legend - Plymouth Furys

General

Dave, I dont think Ruby is ready for this.Since the track is green grass I'm not sure how to set up the blue wagon.I only know wet tacky or dry surfaces and they need opposite roll stiffness.IF Ruby's ride is on wet and tacky it will have more understeer. Ruby can have the crew chief, Jeff put in more oversteer to correct this. Since dirt tracks usually need about 25% softer springs to stop sideways movement and get more side bite I think Ruby might need to get ready for some serious body roll.......lol
