New Smyrna Speedway and Orlando Speedway Under NASCAR Sanction
Current NASCAR
I went to the open house Thursday night and met the the new promoter of Orlando Speedworld. There was a huge crowd showed up and lots of positive things said. The NASCAR rep that covered the new arrangement pretty well had many things to say that I liked. Both Track managers were there and both told me the classes would not change and as long as the crowds came the purses would be improved. I was told by the NASCAR rep that my NASCAR license will now be honored at 55 tracks that are in this group of tracks. The cost will be $195 per year for the limited late models and $95 a year for all those below that class. For this you receive $1,000,000 in insurance coverage.
The new promoter told me he is going to do more local advertizing and up grade the concession and pave the rest of the pit area. I,for one am excited about ANY track thats willing to put its money where its mouth is and by signing a 20 year lease I'd say he's willing.
