I think the Penske alliance may be the bigger story here. Makes you wonder if they're getting ready to show Jack Roush the back door. Too bad Penske sold that engine shop when he left Dodge. A lot of the teams are getting ready to wind down because of the age of their owners. This may signal a rise to the top again for the revitalized Wood Brothers.

Just where was the vaunted NASCAR Integrated Marketing Communications group and its "engagement center" capability to monitor what is being said of the sanction? There were countless references to the accident as being at a NASCAR race or at a NASCAR track -- the Drudge Report's banner headline was "Horror at NASCAR" . All wrong. This wasn't the time for some new age conjured-up PR theory. It was a time for old-fashioned shoe leather work -- like picking up the telephone and calling their high-level contacts at media organizations to get this corrected. It either wasn't done -- shame; or it wasn't effective -- Brian France please note.
I haven't heard anything from Eric Crocker since Ray took her off the market. She was supposed to be NASCAR's Danica way back in 2005. I wonder if there was a specific reason they chose this week to tell us what the visibility and communication is like in sprint cars. Nah, probably not. If they had an agenda they would come right out and say so. It's Fox, those guys are completely on the level.
I think if they went back to simpler paint jobs without graphics on every surface you wouldn't mind it so much. I think all the stripes and decals work to make today's cars look less like stock cars than they really do. If you look at the introduction photos for the Charger and Fusion, they look pretty nice.
I read on another site that Tony is rumored to have been wearing a GoPro camera. That could put a damper on a "I didn't see him" defense. But I don't believe the rumor is true as competitors and inspectors would have seen it and it would be the first thing confiscated.
There are worse places to die, but I would definitely care. I'm not exaggerating when I say it would ruin my whole week.
