October 8 - This day in Petty history 10/08/72 - Richard finishes 10th in the National 500 at Charlotte.10/08/89 - Richard finishes an irrelevant 34th in the All Pro Auto Parts 500 at Charlotte. Kyle doesn't do much better by finishing 29th in the SABCO Peak Antifreeze Pontiac.10/08/95 - Bobby Hamilton finishes 10th in the UAW-GM Quality 500 at Charlotte. Kyle finishes 15th in the SABCO Coors Light Pontiac.10/08/06 - Bobby Labonte finishes 10th in the UAW-Ford 500 at Talladega - a race where eventual winner Brian Vickers triggers a wreck between Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr.
