VCS Rules and Regulations

The rules for the initial race(s) for this series will be governed by the participating clubs. Rather than attempting to begin the seemingly impossible job of "classing" vintage race cars... at this point we will allow the participating clubs to govern the basic rules for eligible cars.

We will not be racing clubs against other clubs initially...unless of course they both have similar "open" rules. The members of each vintage club will race among themselves assuming they can field 12 to 15 cars.

If you are an owner of a vintage race car and would like to compete, you will need to contact the participating clubs for their rules and be accepted by that club. Some of the clubs run "open" rules..."run what you brung rules".

We will require that each car entered to race pass a basic "Safer Racing" inspection. These guidelines will be posted here prior to the first event and will govern such items as fuel cells (required), seats (racing seats required), belts (up to date), seat and belt mounting (must be properly mounted to the roll cage), fire suppression, fire walls, window nets (required)...etc.

If a car shall not be updated with the basic "Safer Racing" requirements in effort to retain it's "Original" condition and value, that car will be allowed to participate in the static and / or exhibition portion of the show. We encourage you to bring these cars for fans to see how they were raced.
