Roxboro Paper: Durham's Taylor Edges Mangum in Roseville feature June 20,1960
Durham's Bill Taylor tracked up victories in two races at the Roseville Speedway last friday night.Taylor crossed the finish line first in the first heat for the sportsman class,and then beat our Roxboro's Mac Mangum for the honors in the featue event.
Taylor edged out Mangum in the first heat of the night in which Jim Underwood of Durham was third.In the second heat Alton Thomas of Roxboro was first,followed by G.B.Holt of Roxboro,and Roy Murphy of Durham.
Merritt Foushee of Roxboro continued his winning ways in the hobby races.taking first place again.Wayne McGhee of Hillsboro was second and Joe Harris of Roxboro came in third.
Races are again scheduleed for the Roseville Speedway,located five miles south of Roxboro on the Roseville road,on friday night
