Roxboro Paper : Davis winner at Roseville,2 nights slated June 26,1960
Haw River race drivers grabbed the spotlight at races Sunday afternoon at the Roseville Speedway,grabbing first,second and third places in the feature sportsman event.
Bennie Davis was first,followed by Frank Massey and Bernice Massey.
Davis was the first heat winner and Mac Mangum of Roxboro was second heat winner ,with G.B.Holt of Roxboro coming in second.
In the hobby event Gene Porterfield of Durham took first honors,
... followed by Wayne McGhee of Hillsboro.Roxboro's Joe Champbell was third,A "grudge race" between Porterfield and McGhee is slated for friday night here under the lights at Roseville Speedway,It has been announced.
Two nights of racing at Roseville Speedway starting on wednesday night July 6th,will be inaugurated.The track owners have announced that races will be run on both Wednesday and friday nights.
Last Sunday's race was held after the events were rained out on Friday night.
