Fayetteville (Cumberland Int'l) was paved in 1971.......so these photos would have been from that era. It was obviously a modified race on the night's program. This photo of Mr. Modified, Ray Hendrick, shows a early 70's chevy pick-up truck as the tow vehicle, pulling a home-made trailer. How times have changed. Ray's sponsor "Sadler's Chevrolet", Emporia, VA is the family business of Hermie and Elliot Sadler

Bobby, Keith & Andy... I took the photo below of the Camaro the day it debuted & won - in the March 1972 Modified portion of the Dogwood 500 doubleheader at Martinsville. So the posted photo from Cumberland Internatioinal would have been taken after March 1972.

For Eric Cardona... here's a photo of the Jack Tant / Clayton Mitchell Flying #11 Late Model Modified driven by Ray Hendrick of Richmond going into the asphalt Cumberland County Speedway / Cumberland International Raceway, site of today's dirt Fayetteville Speedway.
